Why Shop Local?

Because it's good for you.

Being a consumer is as convenient as it is overwhelming these days.

We're here to make things easier, more comfortable, functional, and ideally even fun.

We opened on Magnolia in 1961, and moved to Bearden in '73

Local dollars that stay local, stay local.

Money spent locally circulates within our community, supporting local businesses and creating a positive economic ripple effect. When you buy from local shops, a significant portion of the revenue is reinvested into the community through wages, taxes, and purchases from other local businesses. This helps to sustain local jobs, foster entrepreneurship, and strengthen the community's economic resilience.

Additionally, spending money locally often results in better customer service{except Scott lol) and fosters a sense of community as businesses are more likely to support local events, charities, and initiatives. By choosing to support local businesses, consumers contribute to a vibrant, interconnected local economy that benefits everyone.

We love a strong Knoxville, and dollars spent locally make us all stronger.

Our local shops rock!

Knoxville is special, and we're all better of for it.

Over the years we've done a lot of traveling and have stopped in a lot of shops, and we've been told by many a folk from outside our area, that Knoxville is unique. Too often it's a lot of corporate shops in communities that don't feel like communities.

We don't have that problem. We have a strong, passionate, and fun community, and that didn't appear spontaneously. Our shop has been in the community building game since 1961, and we have some great company in other local shops that are equally passionate and driven. Supporting us helps us support you. If we don't match up for any reason, support one of our other local shops. Our dollars rarely have meaning, your local bike shop dollars do.

Yes that's the owner of another local shop rocking a Harper's sticker on his phone. Great shops respect and support each other.

It's not "just" a bike

It's your bike, or your new bike, a family member's bike, or maybe your child's bike.

For some it's about fitness, others adventure, personal growth, freedom, transportation, or just the simplicity of efficient human powered movement. Bikes are very present in our increasingly technological world for a reason, they're great. All we do, everyday, is help people improve their experience by bike. And we truly love it

We didn't come to carry the brands we do by accident, we've spent decades building relationships and learning who does the best job across a whole host of metrics. Fabrication quality, performance, value, customer service, reliability, and being the kind of business we like to support. When you buy a product from us you can trust that we'd choose it ourselves and we have full faith and confidence it will serve you well.

Support the local scene. It's good for you!
